grey days

As my Spring Break comes to an end, this is quite a bittersweet time for me. Excitement for new projects to come, but also sadness at the end of a nice two weeks of relaxation.

Piled n' Polished

Hello everyone!

It certainly has been a while hasn't it? I don't want to bore you too much as to why I went on a brief "hiatus," so I'll  just quickly summarize it: I lost all my pictures and school left me too busy to replace any of them with new blog posts. However, with applications all done and my extracurricular activities almost taking a pause, I am finally left with time to blog again. Oh happy days!

Seattle Style: One Top, Two Ways

Over the Spring Break, I took two and a half days off to visit Seattle with my parents just to venture, shop, eat, and of course take pictures! While I have a Seattle Photo Diary in the works as well, I thought I might as well split it up into two posts and create a Seattle Outfit Diary too. So, hope you enjoy these two outfits that I packed for my brief visit.

PS. Sorry for the bad quality!!

coffee shop classic

I spent this weekend in Seattle, hence I couldn't update as much blogging done as I wanted to despite having pictures already pre-taken. Anyways, I will upload a Seattle Photo Diary, as well as a double outfit entry pretty soon, but for now a simple outfit entry I took two days before my trip will just have to do.

knee socks

So, it's been a while. After what felt like the longest and most stressful week of my life, is two weeks of (hopefully) utter bliss and I cannot wait. Yesterday marked the first of what I hope are many adventures to come during this break. So, let's let the good times roll.

oversize me

To say that these last few days have been like a roller-coaster ride for me would be a grand understatement. To summarize, I am sick, stressed out half the time and just plain happy the other half, while still managing to have terrible mood swings. The theatre production begins soon, and I am nervous. To top it all off, my tv doesn't have the channel for American Horror Story anymore, so I'll have to stream it or watch it later. Boo.

Despite the fact that it's October, the weather is warmer than it was last week. That hasn't stopped me from layering though. I haven't worn this oversize denim jacket in a while, so I decided to bring that out of the closet, and paired it with a classic plaid shirt and black jeans for a somewhat grunge-y feel. I added my Docs to go with the look as well as for comfort, and finally, just went for my usual watch and rings.

Slightly cringing at my hand right now. Why is it in a claw? Why am I so awkward? Sigh.

Not too sure why, but I just love the masculine look of collars and rolled up sleeves (esp with like a pattern on the cuff.. if that makes sense...) so so so much.

Just some pics of my Docs, because they seriously give any outfit the perfect amount of edge and they're super comfy. Like seriously comfy. Or maybe that's just me since I wear heels 24/7.

basic black

The school week is over and the weekend is upon me, yes! Of course, by the time I post this, it'll already be over but, let's ignore that. Anyways, I ended off the weekday with two quizzes, and a bit of stress, but luckily had a small girls night that cheered me up. We binge ate, gossiped, and laughed our little hearts out. Aaah, there's really no better way to start the weekend.

Usually I'd end the week off a little brighter, but after staying late for theatre crit and then opening the school day with 2 quizzes, it's safe to say I woke up feeling less than par. To match my tired state, I chose a simple all-black outfit. I instinctively grabbed a black t-shirt, skinny jeans and ankle booties as well as my signature two necklaces. For a pop of quirkiness, I grabbed my new bomber jacket filled with cheesy patches. Team Gals anyone?

I absolutely cannot get over how cute the patches on this jacket are. They're so cheesy and really do make me feel like I'm at some Nascar event instead of Chemistry, and just sigh I can't get over it. I really can't.

Here's my attempt at looking waay more "biker chick" than I actually am. Pretty sure I failed big time, and I ended up looking more like Skrillex with ombre, but okay.

für elise

I do not kid when I say that I get the worst anxiety when it comes to singing in front of anyone that is not myself. Yesterday was the Mainstage auditions and sadly, it was time to face my fears. While I'm glad that it's over and done with, I'm still a bit too shaken up to reminisce about it. At least one of my best friends bought me Starbucks to make me feel better. Friends and coffee are great.

Ever since fur has been coming back (with a vengeance), I have not been able to get it out of my head. This summer I finally succumbed and bought a fur vest (don't freak it's not real) while in New York, and I've been patiently waiting for it to get cold enough to wear it. Yesterday was the perfect day, with a breeze yet no rain in the forecast, and I went for a classic look to go with the fur vest. You can't go wrong with a basic white shirt, black jeans, and ankle booties combo. Layered necklaces add a cool feel, yet it still leaves the fur to be a standout item.

This fur is indescribably soft and seriously matches with my hair. Perfect.

I apologize for the blurry picture, but these boots are just too cute.

Just cheesin' (please don't make fun of me).

batter up

The weekend is here and I am filled with cheer (seriously, why am I not a songwriter)! I got to rest up after a week of sleeping at 2 and waking up at 6:45, and I finally do not feel like zombie in the morning. To add to that, I met up with my friend, Grace, who, even though I saw her almost every day in the summer, I was quite glad to see since we don't go to the same school. She helped me catch up on shoots (as well as she might help me on a surprise project tomorrow. Exciting!), and then we talked about classes and school and anything that came to mind over some Starbucks before she had her volunteer. Once she left, I went downtown to meet up with my parents. My mom had some extra Bay points, resulting in $110 off at Topshop (godbless)! Needless to say, I spent the rest of the day shopping. After a few hours of browsing and buying, I made my way on home. As of right now, I am ending off my Saturday in the best way possible: by watching the season premier of SNL hosted by Chris Pratt. Aaaaah, I'm hooked on a feeling...

Shopping days are one of the hardest things to dress for. On one hand, you want to look nice since you're going to a nice store, and there's just this constant need to look to impress at a nice store. But on the other hand, you're just going to keep on changing in and out of those clothes. I did my best to accommodate to both needs with this look. There's nothing easier to slip on than a shirt and jeans. I went with a classic baseball tee (my latest obsession), and just went really minimal with the jewelry, since I didn't want a huge hassle while changing. I rolled up my skinny jeans to make my look more polished, and wore ankle booties to accentuate the polished effect. Finally, I tied a flannel around my waist, simply because one can never go wrong with flannel.

I cannot seem to get my shirt in place. Oh well. Like shirt, like owner.

I will never stop tying flannel around my waist. There's something so effortless yet put together about that look that I adore. Sad news though, I will have to retire these jeans as it's on the verge of dying and ripping everywhere. Good news: I got two new pairs in dark blue and black! Yes!

Also, while we're talking about retiring and buying new items, I got myself a new pair of black ankle booties! Do not fret, I am not retiring these as these booties are no longer shoes to me, but like a close, dear friend. I am, however, just adding a new pair to the family. I need black boots that are fresh, and clean, and don't look like they've been stepped on a thousand times.
